This is the Stage III Motor kit for all Power Wheels Hurricanes using 15 tooth pinions on the stock motors. If you have 13 tooth pinions (the first generation of Hurricanes used these) then you will need new gearboxes. The Stage III kit is a great way to add more A LOT off-road torque and speed. Recommended for hardcore off-road hill-climbing trail-riding fun and for 18-24 volt vehicles. Kit includes:

- 2 massive 775 size Modified motors with internal cooling fans
- Hardened Steel Pinion Gears attached to motors
- Modified Gear Ratio for even more speed
- Torque sleeves on both motor for even more low end powers
- Quick change wire connectors with no soldering installation
- Aluminum Vented Motor Mounts to keep the motors from twisting on the gearcases.
- 4mm motor mounting screws

Motors are safe for up to 24 volts. Their potential is not seen unless you are running at least 18 volts. We strongly recommend using Metal First Gears when running 18 volts or more. Not for use with lithium batteries unless you use our Soft Start Low Voltage Lithium Module.

If your gearbox sis marked "15,16,17" then this kit will work

While you've got the gearboxes out we recommend switching to our Race Grease which reduces resistance in the gearboxes. This allows more top speed and cooler running motors.

Only running these on 12 volts until my 3 year old is ready for some more speed then I'll wire it up for 24 volts. Motors have a lot more torque than the stock ones. Low is a good walking speed and high in the tall grass is a really fast pace walk almost jogging speed. There is a small hill in the yard that used to slow the jeep down to where you almost needed to give a helping push in high. Now I'm almost running up the hill next to it! My son is smiling ear to ear! Definitely a great upgrade!

Stage III Kit for Dune Racer

Upgraded my daughters PW Dune Racer with stage 3 along with increasing to a 20v system. Stock gears failed quickly after increasing the voltage. Stage 3 motors w/gearbox were easy to install and run much smoother and quieter. It is obvious that the stage 3 is designed to handle the additional power along with any other abuse that stock components were not designed to handle. Highly recommend

Stage 3 hurricane motors

I am very pleased with the motors and their performance but I recommend a better solder or something else for the wires coming from the motors. Ive had them I believe less than a month and my son hit a bump and broke the wire off of one motor.

power kayak cart

I am making myself a electric kayak cart with these motor/gear boxes. in the past pulling my heavy kayak across soft beach sand and over sand dunes to access the water has really beat me up (too much work). With these motors and gear boxes I am able to easily walk my kayak across the soft sand. By adding a PWM Controller I control the speed. By turning up the speed I was able to run up and over a sand dune.
