This is the Stage I Motors kit for all Powerwheels 12v Dune Racers, Baja Extremes, Trailsters, & Stingers. The Stage I kit is a great way to add more speed to a Dune Racer without breaking the bank. Kit includes:
- 2 Modified Performance 550 motors - The fastest 550 motors designed for ride-ons today
- 2 Lightweight metal pinion gears
- Torque sleeves on both motors for more low end power.
- Quick-change wire connectors that require no soldering to install and allow fast install/removal of gearcases!
- Bendable motor wire tabs so as not to break as easy as stock ones.
- 2 MLToys Phoenix Gearboxes, the first gearboxes ever designed from the ground up for higher speed ride-on use!
- Fully assembled. Just swap out with your stock motor/gearboxes and follow the break-in instructions!

Motors are warrantied for up to 18 volts. Lithium batteries require using our Lithium Module. It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to add the 550 Cooling Fan Kit if you do run 18 volts. Still helpful for 12 volt vehicles too.

Reliable and easy to install

I was initially concerned about doing work on our Power Wheels. I have ZERO mechanical skills, and this was EASY TO INSTALL. The motors are reliable and the "Break in" was simple. Highly recommend purchasing if your power wheel has stopped working,

Works well, but not much difference in speed. Never modified a vehicle before and was able to get this working. Would recommend

Product well made, durability suspect

I purchased these knowing full well using with 18v lithium was not warrantied, but with description, videos, and soft start kit, I expected to get a year on them. I got 2hrs or less of runtime before a dead motor.

Customer service replied very quickly, but offered no help besides "buy some 775s". They also stated that they get "dozens of emails a day" from people burning 550s on lithium, however the description of this product states "are often used with 18v". If ML gets so many emails a day, this product description is misleading.

Overall, seems to be a very well made product, I am simply frustrated that the description misled me, and customer service team just wants me to buy more product. If this would have been clear in the description, I would have bought stage 3 kit and not had to spend more money upgrading a stage 1 kit after the fact. Customer service has also refused to answer my questions and emails since Jun 23. This is being posted on July 11th.

Great stock replacement

The motors and gearboxes are an awesome stock replacement. In my case there was a big improvement as the old gearboxes were worn out and sloppy. I highly recommend these to bring new life to your well used power wheels.

Great product

Installed the motor/gearbox on my sons dune racer and it works great. Thank you for producing such a great product and supplying a novice like me with such great directions to install. I have 2 more that will need advanced parts down the road and I’m looking forward to doing business with you all in the future!
